Savona Mill

HOSPITALITY

Overview

Rooted within the adaptive re-use of Charlotte’s historic Savona Mill, the project was conceived as a hospitality-driven experience woven into a larger mixed-use destination of creative office, retail, and food-and-beverage spaces. Once a 115-year-old textile mill, the site now attracts a new generation of entrepreneurs, creatives, and young professionals drawn to its connection to the urban core, adjacent greenway trails, and the growing cultural energy of Charlotte’s west side. Spaces approached the design by reinterpreting the site’s textile history through a contemporary lens, blending mid-century modern influences, nature-inspired forms, and layered materiality to create an environment that feels both grounded and forward-looking. Spaces led the design vision from early strategy through final planning, crafting a layered narrative inspired by connection to the surrounding forest, artful textiles, and sculptural contemporary forms. Warm woods, woven materials, curated lighting, and tactile detailing create a series of spaces that feel expressive, intimate, and quietly transportive. Every moment was designed to deliver the emotional depth and aesthetic clarity of boutique hospitality while supporting the rhythms of modern living. The result is an experience that feels culturally tuned-in, visually unforgettable, and built to resonate long after the first visit.
