La Cueva

Hidden behind an unassuming doorway inside Ponce City Market, La Cueva reimagines the speakeasy as an immersive listening experience shaped by shadow, texture, and sound. Inspired by the feeling of moving through a cavern, the 2,700 SF space unfolds through winding paths, carved surfaces, shifting ceiling heights, and indirect light glowing from unseen sources above and below. SPACES led the project through early concept and schematic design, developing the spatial strategy, lighting approach, material palette, and custom furniture concepts that define the experience. The result is a space designed to feel discovered rather than entered.
